Student Trustee Announcements

• Javier: Board of Trustees met, promotion of district level were nominated for classified employee of the year at the California College Chancellor's Office. Student Health Fee will increase from $17 to $20 as a result of inflation and to cover costs of goods/labor, two academic advisors as well as one faculty & equipment position.

External Shared Governance Committee Reports

• Curriculum: Discussed deadlines; 60 courses initialized. Read through ASCCC; want to know student opinions on new De Anza GE Patterns and/or existing requirements. 
• RAPP: Approved emergency request criteria, group work. 
• Chancellor's Advisory Council: Met on 3/15 and discussed HEFAS campus policy; Immigration enforcement officials; limiting ICE officials to the full extent. Discussed AP guidelines; collecting information on students' immigration status; discussed AP 2410. 
• De Anza Academic Senate: Met on 3/18, discussed Measure G allocations; board meeting on 4/01.

Business Item 4

Proposed Internal Officer Senate Structural Changes

• Lydia presented the item. 
• Izat motioned to approve the removal of the Vice Chair position from DASG for the 24-25 year for the committee. 
• Seconded by Virinchi, no objections. 
• Katelyn Motion to add a social media officer position to the Martketing Committee for the DASG 2024-2025 year. 
• Seconded by Isaac, no objections. 
• Discussion over ES Coordinator as well as additonal committees took place.

Business Item 5

DASG Environmental Sustainability Code 

• Adrian and Dennis presented the item. 
• Adrian recommended that the name for the Environmental and Sustainability Title is changed. 
  • Change the name of vice chair to an outreach officer. 
• Suggestion to consider removing one of the ES coordinators present. 

Poll taken below: 

• 2 Internal Officer positions for ES next year. Total: 21
• 3 ES Internal Officer positions for ES next year. Total: 5

Public Comments 

• Aaron: Bringing up the tone used with the public as well as Cecillia during the appeal. Aaron feels that everyone represents DASG. 
• Hannah: Student Election Complaint Forms: As student leaders, we are representing students and forget that we are also students as well. 
• Jannah: Change the system of how we work with students; felt like students were being humiliated and interegated. 
• Matthew: Adjust the code to outline how the appeal process should look like. 
• Dennis: Review your codes to see what needs to be adjusted; we will be looking at the codes as well as the ByLaws. Last Senate meeting, was very noisy and we need to be professional as well as not having side conversations. 
• Arianna: For the DASG Special Meeting, Brian was spoken to in a negative way and ultimately does not represent DASG in a positive light. 
• Asiya: When people are coming to speak, we need to have decorum when students are speaking. Try to pay attention to the speakers, look at them, show them that we are actually speaking. 
• Virinchi: Limited input from the advisors; make decisions based on what is in front of us.

• Hyon Chu:  Thanks to everyone for making their comments. Please show up on time! Submit senator feedback on time, tonight before midnight. 
• Maliah: Appreciates everyone's comments regarding the candidate process and maintaining that level of integrity and holding each other accountable; it's not always easy to do when it's your fellow peers.
