Campus Center Advisory Board
Meeting Notes
January 27, 2025
Review/Approve meeting notes from October 14, 2024
The group reviewed and approved the meeting notes from October 14, 2024.
Campus Center first floor refresh update
A project charter has been created, and funding has been identified. A project manager has been assigned, and college operations will collaborate with the district project manager. A question was raised regarding the installation timeline for Zoom capabilities in the Student Council Chambers. Facilities requires a utility person to install the necessary backing for this part of the project. The main electrical work has been completed.
Campus Center second floor refresh update
ETS will explore upgrades in the Fireside Dining Room, Don Bautista Room, and Conference Rooms A and B. A complete refresh of the main dining room’s equipment is also planned. The project still needs to go out to bid, and progress is expected later. Aesthetic updates, including painting, will be part of a second phase.
Resource Hub project update (formerly the Food Pantry)
The project charter is complete, funding has been identified, and a project manager has been assigned. A structural architect engineer will be assessing the interior to ensure no additional reinforcements are needed to support new equipment, shelving and supplies. In Fall Quarter 2024, the project manager, Dean of Enrollment Services and the FF&E Coordinator visited San Jose State University’s food pantry which serves as inspiration for the new space.
Measure G update
All-Gender Restrooms (S6, S2, L5)
Plans were submitted to the Department of the State Architect and returned with questions for the district. The architect has responded to the inquiries, and once approved the project will move forward. Temporary restrooms and sinks will be provided during the renovations.
Flint Center Demolition
Demolition is progressing and rubble removal is underway. Once cleared, the site will be prepared for the construction of the new Creative Arts building.
Beach Volleyball
The project is progressing well, and six sand courts with a scoreboard are expected to be completed by summer.
Creative Arts
Once the Flint Center demolition is completed and the area is prepared, focus will turn to the construction of the new Creative Arts building.
Dining Services Update
The Pho soup was successful last week and will continue next week. Apple Pay implementation has been delayed but is expected to be active soon.
