Adapted Cardiovascular Training
Course Description
This adapted course will provide reasonable accommodations for students with verified physical disabilities. It is an introduction to the discipline of Physical Education through cardiovascular training keeping in mind an individual's physical, intellectual, and/or affective abilities and limitations. Also, this course includes rules, equipment, etiquette, safety, nutrition, and techniques related to cardiovascular fitness training. A global and historical review of the evolution of aerobic exercise, and exercise trends for men, women, and athletes as they correspond to the evolution of the discipline of Physical Education will be presented. Students will review and apply basic exercise physiology and fitness concepts in the context of their own abilities and limitations to develop and/or maintain their cardiovascular fitness levels.
