Clinical Laboratory Assistant - Certificate of AchievementDetails for Certificate of Achievement - Clinical Laboratory Assistant
The Clinical Laboratory Assistant Certificate of Achievement is available to students who have successfully completed the four required courses of study. The Certificate of Achievement is a 12-month course of study that prepares students for a career as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant through classroom study. Graduates of the certificate program have a recognized skill set for jobs as a laboratory assistant and opportunity for advancement.
Health Sciences - Transfer MapDetails for Transfer Map - Health Sciences
A transfer map is a suggested schedule of courses to take each quarter, if you are planning to transfer and pursue a bachelor’s degree in a particular subject. These maps were created to help you get a solid footing in the subject and stay on track with courses commonly required by CSU or UC schools, but they do not guarantee your admission to any university. Students also participate in administrative skills externships in local clinical sites as part of the program.

The Health Technologies Department developed this Certificate of Achievement to train students in the clinical skills of performing venipunctures, setting up lab tests, processing specimens for testing in clinical labs, performing electrocardiograms and recognizing arrhythmias. The Health Technologies Department developed the Medical Assisting Certificate of Achievement-Advanced to train students in the fundamental clinical skills of reading vital signs, assisting with minor surgery, performing routine lab procedures, administering medication and the administrative skills of medical coding and medical records management. Medical Laboratory Technology - Certificate of Achievement-AdvancedDetails for Certificate of Achievement-Advanced - Medical Laboratory Technology
Note: To receive the Medical Laboratory Technology Certificate of Achievement-Advanced, students must have an A.A./A.S. degree or higher. The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Certificate of Achievement-Advanced is available to students who have an associate or higher degree from an accredited U.S. institution or the evaluated equivalent from foreign study. The Certificate of Achievement-Advanced is a 15-month course of study (including one summer) that prepares students for a career as an MLT through classroom study and supervised clinical training. The MLT program provides students with a quality education that complies with the established standards and guidelines of an accredited laboratory training program. Graduates of the certificate program are eligible to sit for a state-approved national MLT certification examination.
Medical Laboratory Technology - Associate in ArtsDetails for Associate in Arts - Medical Laboratory Technology
The A.A. degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is a 24-month course of study (including summers) that prepares students for a career as a medical laboratory technician through classroom study and supervised clinical training. The MLT program provides students with a quality education that complies with the established standards and guidelines of an accredited laboratory training program. Graduates of the degree program are eligible to sit for a state-approved national MLT certification examination.

The Health Technologies Department developed this Certificate of Achievement to train students in the administrative skills of transcribing medical dictation that details a patientâ??s health care during an illness or after an injury and editing phrase recognition transcription. Students also participate in administrative skills externships in local clinical sites as part of the program.
Phlebotomy Technician I - Certificate of AchievementDetails for Certificate of Achievement - Phlebotomy Technician I
The Health Technologies Department developed this Certificate of Achievement to train students in the clinical skills of performing venipunctures, setting up lab tests and processing specimens for testing in clinical labs. Students also participate in administrative skills externships in local clinical sites as part of the program. The Phlebotomy Technician I program has been approved by the California Department of Public Health-Laboratory Field Services.
